August is here, and I’m excited to give you a little peek behind the curtain of my writing process. To hone my skills, I’m working on getting certified in editing as well. By improving my self-editing abilities, I can ensure the story is even better when it finally reaches your eyes. As I dive deeper into the world of editing, I’ve been learning a lot about refining and polishing a manuscript. It’s been a journey of discovery, with both challenges and triumphs.
Editing is like sculpting: you start with a rough shape and carefully carve away the excess to reveal the masterpiece within. I’ve found that taking a step back to see the bigger picture is crucial, as it helps me understand the story’s flow and coherence. I’ve also learned the importance of being kind to myself—sometimes, we are our own harshest critics!
But enough about me—I want to hear from you! So many people tell me they’ve always wanted to write a book. Do you have a book idea you’ve been itching to write? Or maybe you’re already working on a manuscript and could use some advice? I’d love to know what’s on your creative minds. Feel free to share your thoughts, dreams, and experiences. Who knows? We might even feature a few of your stories in a future newsletter or on social media (with your permission, of course)!
Join the conversation by commenting here. Let’s continue to inspire each other on this journey of creativity and storytelling. Your support and engagement mean the world to me, and I can’t wait to hear about the stories you’ve been dreaming up.
Wishing you all a wonderful August filled with inspiration and creativity!
As I FINALLY grow closer and closer to the end of my editing journey through my book, Kept For Her, I’m getting more excited about creating from scratch again!
Book 2 in my Operation Return To Peace Series (wounded warrior series) is tempting me to work on my hero and heroine. I’d like to also work to develop the setting more specifically in some areas that pertain to them.
Alas, I must focus on this current novel. Readers have been very patient ly waiting for this one!
Your description of taking a step back for the bigger picture is spot on!
Happy editing❣️
Love that you’re getting excited again! Go you! Can’t wait to read the final product!
