I see that you have a combination of fiction and non-fiction books in your repertoire. Which do you find easier or more rewarding to write?
Hello Angela, thank you so much for allowing me to be your guest. I am thrilled to be here. As for which I find easier to write between fiction and nonfiction, I would have to say fiction, probably because I have an overactive imagination and love to create characters. Both nonfiction and fiction are rewarding in different ways and touch lives differently, and I truly believe God can use any type of writing to plant seeds in the minds of readers. Some people who may not read a nonfiction book will pick up a fiction book, for example.

Romance books appear to be one of your favorites to write. Where do you get your ideas for contemporary novels from?
Excellent question! I am a people watcher (and people listener), so that helps with ideas. Sometimes my daughter, who is also a writer, says “Mom, you should write a book about such-and-such”. Just that little tidbit gets the creative juices flowing. In addition, I’m an extremely visual person, so sometimes just seeing pictures of potential characters or a mockup of a book cover I’ve thought about helps the creative process along.

What do you find your biggest challenge to be?
I would say my most difficult writing obstacle is setting priorities, sticking to them, and not wasting time on less important things on my “to-do list.” Besides writing, I am also a wife, homeschool mom, fitness instructor, blog regularly, am involved in ministry, and volunteer. To help myself overcome that obstacle, each morning before I climb out of bed and face the day, I ask the Lord to prepare my heart, that He guide my day, that I would use my time wisely, and that I would get accomplished only what He would have me do that day.

Tell me a little about your latest book?
Love Under Construction has a strong theme of relying on God. Below is the “official” blurb.

She builds websites. He builds houses. Together, can they build a family for two orphans?

Irelynn agreed two years ago to help raise her best friend’s twins should anything happen. When she is called upon to fulfill that agreement, there is only one problem—Irelynn must share the responsibility with the arrogant but handsome Quinton Gregory.

Quinton takes the role of raising his niece and nephew with all seriousness. He will do anything for the twins, even if it means putting up with the beautiful but stubborn Irelynn Brady.

When forced to be in each other’s presence far more often than is comfortable, things slowly begin to change. Will the unexpected attraction between Irelynn and Quinton become a love under construction?
